Set the “Reset” Button—Big Energy March 8, 2016

Big Energy March 8, 2016.  Set the Reset Button.

Today feels like a big day.  It’s International Women’s Day.  It’s also a new moon and a solar eclipse. It seems that the solar system has lined things up for a big shift and we here on planet Earth are celebrating a shift of orientation and focus.

Here are some insights into today’s powerful energy.  May you use it to to reset your intentions and move into your most authentic and inspired self and way of living.

The moon turns new on March 8 or 9, 2016, depending on your time zone. The new moon happens one day before the moon reaches lunar perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth in its orbit. Thus this new moon counts as a supermoon. It won’t be visible in our sky, but it’ll line up with the sun to create a larger-than-average effect on Earth’s oceans. Plus this new supermoon swings right in front of the sun, so if you’re at the right place on Earth, you might be able to view the new moon silhouette in front of the sun (but remember to useproper eye protection). The eclipse will begin at 23:19 UTC on March 8, 2016, and its maximum point will take place at 01:59 UTC on March 9, 2016. Totality will last for 4 minutes and 9 seconds. “Be prepared…The total solar eclipse/new moon in Pisces will occur on March 8th at 6:54 PM MST. This eclipse is an extreme moment, one of the more extreme of 2016. It’s extreme because of the type of planets in Pisces at the time of the eclipse. Extreme because of the number of planets that are currently in the same mutable modality as Pisces. Extreme because that is the nature of an eclipse. Eclipses tend to open and close doors. They tend to be portals of rapid growth. They reveal our psychic shadow selves. They tend to be whirlwinds of wonder and whiplash. Big shifts internally and/or externally occur whether we are ready for them or not. This eclipse season, this moment in history, this life, this world, this planet needs our deepest commitment to honesty, to integrity, to creativity, to truth, to love, to justice, to dealing with the difficult without trying to escape it…” From Chani Nicholas

solar eclipseThemes in our lives that need to be released will be ignited in order for us to more closely align with our destiny and life path. Sometimes we end up needing to let certain themes in our lives go in order to put more focus on a new direction.

Something else to keep in mind is that eclipses bring the Moon’s Nodes into the forefront. These are astrological points that can be looked out to help us hone in on our life’s mission. It’s a deep concept and one that comes into full focus during eclipse times.

As we embark upon this event driven high energy Eclipse Season here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Expect the unexpected. Eclipses have a funny way of diverting our attention to things we weren’t thinking of. Predicting the unexpected is impossible and I guarantee whatever you think it might be—it’ll end up being something totally different.
  2. Prepare to say goodbye to something (but keep in mind that something new comes along with it). The themes of the “something” we have to part with could be endless—a way of life, a career, a job, a relationship, a house, etc. Parting with patterns of thinking and the way we do things are also up for reevaluation. There’s likely an ending in play—but remember that something new always comes along for the ride.
  3. Prepare to compromise. We may feel defeated in some way with an eclipse and have to accept a compromise of some sort. It may not look that great in the moment but later on we’ll come to see the benefits of giving in a bit.
  4. Be open to the possibilities. Sometimes new beginnings come in crazy packages. Trying to look at the potential of what the universe might be trying to say will have long lasting benefits. From Elephant Journal

piecesThe Pisces New Moon occurs at 8:54pm EST on March 8th flowing the deep feeling and sensitive seas of this water sign into our world. A very powerful solar eclipse coincides with this lunation which is packing a huge punch in our lives. From The Goddess Circle

This cycle is bringing us into a time of feeling the natural conclusions of things in our lives; projects, paths, relationships, thought patterns & beliefs. This is a time of letting go of the old and going within to see the truth of what we want on this path forward and how to sow the seeds of bringing that into being.

This is a very sensitive and raw time so be gentle with yourself. These oceans of emotion can flood us if we’re not present. This is a potent flow we are in the midst of. Stay rooted in your truth. This is a time for asking the important questions, both of yourself and others.
