Blame it on the Retrograde/Moon

Blame it on the Retrograde/Moon

Are you irritated, distracted, sending and receiving mixed messages?  These are all common experiences during Mercury retrograde and sometimes during an eclipse or a full moon as well. There will be four mercury retrogrades, eclipses and supermoons in 2016.

When planets are retrograde (going backwards in the sky, usually for a 20-40 day cycle), life can go backwards too, leading to sabotage, pretense and compulsion. Relationships may undergo stress and you may be tempted by a new relationship. Financial and creative endeavors may also come undone. Astrologists advise practicing patience, creating consciously and setting intentions to attract what you desire.

Mercury retrogrades four times this year:

Mercury retrograde in Capricorn January 5 — January 26, 2016

Mercury retrograde in Taurus April 28— May 22, 2016

Mercury retrograde in Virgo August 30 — September 21, 2016

Mercury retrograde in Capricorn December 19 — January 8, 2017

Lunar events are surrounded by a lot of folklore. Many cultures believe animals are eating the moon when it aligns with the sun and earth, foreboding disaster and making people crazy. But a study by LiveScience on mental illness and the moon found no statistical increase in criminal behavior or negative surgery outcomes during a full moon.

There will be four eclipses in 2016 (When the moon casts a shadow on the earth)

March 8, 2016 total Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees Pisces

March 23, 2016 Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 3 degrees Libra

September 1, 2016 Annular Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo

September 16, 2016 Penumbral Lunar Eclipse 24 degrees Pisces

There will be four SuperMoons in 2016 (When the moon is closest to the earth)

March 8, 2016 SuperMoon 19 degrees Pisces New Moon

October 15, 2016 SuperMoon 23 degrees Aries Full Moon

November 14, 2016 SuperMoon 23 degrees Taurus Full Moon

December 13, 2016 SuperMoon 23 degrees Gemini  Full Moon
